Why My Burger Diet Can No Longer Exist

If you know me, you know that I could eat a hamburger for every meal. There was a point freshman year of college that I was literally eating a burger every single day, but that’s another story. I loved burgers so much that one day last year I took pictures of me with my favorite burger from Wells food court (featured as the cover of this blog post lol). The fact that I am a dancer and was dancing one to two hours every single day was the only reason why I could keep up that burger diet but ANYWAY, not the point of this blog post.

Recently I’ve been having a lot of skin issues that all started when I was studying for one of my class’s (accounting aka the devil) final exams. I kept taking practice exams and with every practice exam, I would break out in more hives. I didn’t think anything of it, chalking up the hives to merely stress. But after the exam had finished (and I passed LMAO thank god), the hives did not go away. They just increasingly got worse and worse. Eventually, I visited an allergist where they found out I was allergic to 55 DIFFERENT THINGS. Which was just ridiculous.

Out of all of those 55 things, the food allergies were the ones I was most devastated about. To list a few, I am apparently allergic to to ALL RED MEATS, (so no more burger diet for me lmao!), yeast (“yeet that yeast” - Chase Owczarzak), salmon, shrimp, broccoli, cauliflower, basil, cumin, pears, green beans/peas, cantaloupe, and much more. So now, I’m on a detox of all those allergens for the next two weeks.

It’s only Day 4, but I can already see my skin getting a lot better! I can also breathe better, and I didn’t even know I had problems with that. I’ve been on a much better diet ever since I found out my allergens because now I pretty much can’t eat any fast food except Taco Bell. So I guess even though it means I can’t eat a burger for the next two weeks, being allergic to so many things is good for me in a way. I feel healthier, and my skin and breathing feels better.

Moral of the story? I’m kind of glad I stopped eating burgers because if my skin didn’t kill me from eating them, a heart attack sure would have.

Also if you have any healthy recipes or food places that are careful about allergens please let me know! The more help, the better.

All the Best, Sabrina
